COTTRELL PARK LADIES - GOLF LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
Cottrell Park Ladies’ first team has won Division 1 of the Glamorgan and Monmouthshire Ladies’ Golf League for the first time. Helen Little, team captain, said, ‘It is an amazing achievement, I can hardly believe it. I’m so proud of the team’.
The Glamorgan and Monmouthshire League currently consists of 104 teams playing in 10 divisions. Cottrell Park first entered the league in 1999 and, as with all newly-entered teams, was in the lowest division - D9. The team won promotion in its first year and continued to climb the divisions every year except one since then reaching Division 1 in 2010.
Over the past 12 years the makeup of the team has inevitably changed. But one member has remained constant. Sandra Collin has played in the first team every year since it was formed and for four of those years she was team captain.
The members of Cottrell Park Golf Club and especially the ladies who played in the victorious team are justly proud and excited.
