De Vere Dunston Hall Golf Club
Ipswich Road, Dunston, Norwich, Norfolk, NR14 8PQ United Kingdom
The fabulous par 71 and 6,275 yard course has been carefully designed and Cleverly contoured around the wooded parkland estate that surrounds the hotel. The course offers a varied and challenging game to golfers of all standards. The natural hazards of the terrain and the strategically placed bunkers add a certain spice to the picturesque landscape. The Par 4 16th Tee has been carved into the wooded surrounds inviting you to view the impressive course from its highest peak. A good long and straight drive will be rewarded with a medium to long iron into the slightly elevated island green. An errant drive into the trees, that line, divine and add character to this hole, will mean a careful lay up to the daunting lakes edge needs to be a well Judged shot. A precise pitch is needed if par is to be attained on this deceptively fast and slopping green.

Peter Mann had certainly waited a long time for this moment.
Having competed in many Gtour events over the three years Mann can finally say he is a winner on tour.
The win came at the very demanding De Vere Dunston Hall where straight driving and accurate iron play is the key to victory with many players left their drivers at home or in the bag as position off the tee meant posting a good score.
The sun shone on the penultimate qualifying event of the season as it has done throughout pretty much every other event this year and once again it was a sell out field with players knowing their time is running out to book their place in the two-day semi final in November for a chance to compete in the grand final at Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus.
Aegean Airlines
New sponsors Aegean Airlines were involved in their first event since getting involved with the Race to Cyprus and it certainly went down a hit with the players, as the top-ten that make it through to the grand final will know they’re going to be well looked after once their seat is booked.
For Mann it has been a case of practice makes perfect as extra hours on the range and putting green helped his game along:
“I played very well today, I played the front nine quite steadily but on the back I only had two bogeys and the rest pars so
I was pleased with that. The greens were quick but in great condition and I’ve been putting in a few extra hours on the practice ground and the course and it seemed to pay off today.
“I’d like to give a mention to John Harris who knows how hard I’ve been trying as we practice together a lot so thanks a lot to him”.
“It was another great event,” Mann added.
“As with all the other Gtour events I’ve played in I had a great day as well another event being well supported and I’m looking forward now to Mottram (De Vere Mottram Hall) and Belton (De Vere Belton Woods) then you never know after that I could be on my way to Cyprus.”
A score of 38 points was enough for a one shot victory from Colin Ainsworth whilst John Geeson and Kevin King were tied third a further point behind.
2009 and 2010 order of merit winner Shane Davis completed the top-five players with 35 points.
Final Qualifying Event
The final qualifying event of the season is at De Vere Mottram Hall on Saturday 17th September where the field has been increased due to popular demand. To book your place in the final qualifier go to www.gtour.co.uk but be quick as spaces are going to be snapped up.
After that event the top 52 players in the Race to Cyprus will be on their way to De Vere Belton Woods in November.
