The conditions were perfect for the Club Championship in which 70 members competed in a 2 tee start, 36 hole Battle.Richard Streeter came out on top in the morning with a superb 72 gross but it was George Morgan who took the title with 74 followed by a very solid 70, securing his 4th title at The Mendip. Second went to Matt Lambert with a total gross 150, third was Neil Onslow with 151 and fourth Tom Hurst 152. In the Frost cup Simon Whittle was on fire with an impressive 132 nett, second Nigel Cheshire 141,third Nick Hall 141 and fourth Henry Banks 142.

Overnight rain on the Mendip Hills meant there was less roll on the fairways and a little more give on the greens for The Mendip Golf Club's prestigious Ollie Parfitt Cup, a Seniors' medal competition. Martin Lambert was a convincing winner with a gross 89 net 65, six strokes below par. Frank Dance was second with 84 for a 67 net. Chris Bryant (77 for 68) just pipped Phil Moody (81 for 68) on countback for third place.
There were only six '2-spots', and, unusually, Rob Stanton bagged three of them with birdies at each of the par threes.
