Golf in Jerez, Spain

Having just come back from a weekend away with 'the boys' in a fantastic village called Sanlucar de Barrameda near Jerez, Spain. I thought it was my job to let the world know about a 'gem' of a place not only for golf, which was exceptional but the warmth and friendliness of the locals. The food, wines and Sherry was a refreshing change to our usual weekends away.

The 8 of us stayed in a luxury villa overlooking Sanlucar Golf Club and Donana National Park. We arrived in the dark and were not prepared for the view from the balcony as we arose for our days golf. Absolutely stunning, views to die for. Sanlucar Golf Course was wonderful. What a start to a few days away.

During our 3 nights away we also played the magnificent Montecastillo Golf Club and the superb Sherry Golf Course . I recommend that you check this area out, it's amazing and to cap it all the food and drink were really cheap compared to Marbella and Portugal.

Can't recommend the area high enough. Just booked again for next February and managed to get tickets for the Jerez v Real Madrid game. Golf, footie and a few beers, can't wait.

If you ever organise any tournaments out there, you can count me and the boys in.
