The South of Spain is one of the more popular regions in the country, boasting locations including, but not limited to Murcia, Malaga and Valencia, all well known and popular areas for golf breaks. The area has brilliant golf courses suitable for all strandards of player, some favourites include Golf Almerimar and Golf Torrequebrada, both of which have received favourable reviews. Equally this general region has several areas with superb night life and entertainment to keep tourists entertained away from the course throughout their stay.

La Duquesa Golf & Country Club

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr, La Duquesa winds round the local scenery with magnificent views over the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and to Africa. The demanding course requires accurate driving and concentration. Some of the fairways can be a little tight and you will have to resist the temptation of a driver and choose a long iron instead. The par 3s will live long in the memory, particularly the eighth as there is a drop of some 20 metres to the green that is only 118 yards away. Another factor is the breeze that can make playing that little bit more difficult although it can be very refreshing in the warmer months.
